DC/DC step-up / boost converter in the inverter (UniTrain)

In some high voltage systems, the electric motor requires a higher voltage than that which can be provided by the HV battery. In this case, the inverter must convert respectively boost the battery voltage. This is why this type of inverter is also called “boost inverter”. A typical example of the use of this technology is the vehicle manufacturer Toyota, which uses exactly this technology in its “Hybrid Synergy Drive”.
