EGI 1 Project work “Building service entry with main distribution box”

This project work is intended to cement practical skills, planning for work and materials plus testing and documentation of complete projects. A pre-prepared model is used to train the safe use of common materials and tools.
Training objectives are organised as follows:

• Training project, overview

• Electricity feed, distribution

• Installation of a service entry point for a building

• Observing protective measures to prevent electric shocks

• Mains systems

• Installation of circuitry under plaster (lights and sockets)

• Short circuits, faults to frame, faults to ground

• Testing electrical systems in accordance with currently applicable standards

• Testing TN systems

• Testing RCDs

• Measurement of insulation resistance, earth resistance and loop resistance

• Test of three-phase rotating field, measurement of protective earth resistance, equipotential bonding

• Lightning and excess voltage protection

• Documentation, handover and test report
